Like everything else, they are potentially addictive and dangerous. However, I do not think any drugs should be illegal. Too much information is suppressed about how they actually work, not to forget the huge amount of effort & resources are put into prosecuting people for possession & sale of certain drugs.
What is the true reason some drugs are allowed and others are not? Is it all on account of the alcohol industry wielding influence to keep other intoxicants out of their marketplace?
I know everyone has a "horror story" about someone who became addicted, and we hear all the time about celebrities meeting untimely ends thanks to both illegal and prescription medications.
We can't stop people getting hold of drugs if they really want them. I say we should decriminalize all of them, and at least save on police, investigative, court and prison space/time. Some of the money saved could be better spent on educating people on the real side effects of drugs. The benevolent dictatorship claiming to look out for us needs to end.
