I am quite content to respect the right of people to hold their faiths, even if (haha) they don't believe in them. I in turn want them to respect my
right not to finance them in following through on implementing those beliefs with which I disagree. I'm tired of being forced to foot the bill for other
people's beliefs, be it a war overseas, or how to combat alleged global warming, or cooling or whatever galactic climate change is occurring which is
actually beyond my ability to change.
However, I would like to contribute to the development of more nuclear energy, so that there will be enough power to run more climate-controllable buildings.
THAT will do more to cope with something that if it came to pass would be due more to nature's laws than to man's behaviors. The data is
well-documented contrasting the output of one volcanic eruption with man's contribution. We already know there is evidence of ice ages on the planet before
as well as warmer periods. Preparing for a drastic climate change (even a relatively slow-paced change) is a product of seeing NOW that it's something we
need to start on the road to solving now, or our species will be dealt a severe blow.
Our response as a species to our energy needs must find a source plentiful and cost-effective. It must meet both immediate problems of providing energy to
fuel the electricity needs now, as well as meet whatever need may come due to climatic change. Whether they are shifts of measurable and record-breaking levels
in a cold or a warm direction, nuclear energy can provide the means to successfully thrive and survive.
