They had to. It took our species a hell of a long time to even notice other worlds, so busy were we devising ways to torture and be tortured by each other.

Earth is said to be the retarded planet. Slowest planet in the Galaxy. It's why we're called Earth. We're dirt. Our lives exist because there is dirt. When we decompose we are turned back into a collection of elements. It's the stuff of dead once-living matter.

Take a look at a piece of nature. A prairie, a forest, a sandy beach. A desert of ice or salt or anywhere there is too much of something and not enough of something else. In their pristine, untouched state, imagine that's your daily lot in life. Just that landscape. The only piece of human construction you find are the things you build for yourself and your family.

No coffee shops, malls, apartments, office buildings. Clean living in environments with controllable climate controls!!

Actually, most of the people on Earth aren't being honest when they say they're not self-absorbed, self-interested, pretty much completely selfish in enjoying their lives and making something out of it.

It's because we're so self-absorbed we most of us haven't made time to learn all the stuff to do with science and how things work. Most people, if they agree about the existence of aliens, hold that idea as belief, not as knowledge. They All we know is things work. There are gadgets and gizmos for everything. Being able to take an instant class in There is so much to do in life even once you acquire the most basic human skills, never mind the advanced conceptualizations.


On the other hand what if the priceless gift our species has, which is what all the rest of the Living Human Worlds want, is the ability to be self-absorbed?
