It is not in the best interests of other kinds of energy to be compared with nuclear. That is why we do not see such a comparison, Cymbals.

You would think that we could be informed of the hazards and benefits of each type of energy and then make rational decisions. It should not be as hard and political as it is made to be.

So was hydrogen, but after the Hindenburg exploded on all the newsreels, that was the end of airship travel even though the Germans showed it can be perfectly safe with precautions.

Good point, Bas. And the fearmongerers with vested interests don't help either. Nuclear is the cleanest & safest energy source yet developed/discovered.

I think the problem with nuclear energy is the publics perception of it. When one hears the word nuclear the image that pops into everyone's head is a mushroom cloud. And Chernobyl didn't help things either.

I am quite content to respect the right of people to hold their faiths, even if (haha) they don't believe in them. I in turn want them to respect my right not to finance them in following through on implementing those beliefs with which I disagree. I'm tired of being forced to foot the bill for other people's beliefs, be it a war overseas, or how to combat alleged global warming, or cooling or whatever galactic climate change is occurring which is actually beyond my ability to...
